Spring 1806
Dear Mr. Jefferson,

The journey was the Corps at its best. The journey was America at it's best. This journey has been to of my best years in my life. With only one fatality, I feel that the whole expedition went almost seamlessly. Even when we got stopped by the Tetons Sioux our clever members squirmed out of it, and through the hardships of the deadly Rockies, we pushed on. To the awestruck finish, the Pacific Ocean. I know I will never forget this historic journey. I think that describing this journey as the Corps at its best and America at its best is spot on. Meaning that the Corps could not have made it unless they came together and worked together and the America part meaning that the journey went against a lot of the prejudice policies back in Washington (a black man and an Indian women voted).

For all my hard work photos, and media. I believe I should receive the grade of an A-.

The weather has been awful the last few days, and many of the men have caught colds. On the positive side we have finished our fort. Many Clatsop Indians have been here today to trade food.
