Much of the talk between the men are about Sacajawea going into labor. Although disliked at the beginning of the winter because the men though that she would just be extra weight to carry on the expedition, her popularity has increased a ton. I here it is a very slow and painful labor. Knowing that the labor was lasting such a long time a french trader living with the Mandans suggested feeding her rattlesnake rattle saying that it worked every time. Captain Lewis was desperate so he tried it and a few minutes later she gave birth. All the trouble started when the husband of Sacajawea started to demand outrageous things for payment on the expedition and Captain Clark asked them to leave. We all missed Sacajawea and her son a lot. Then the french man asked a man to go over and make negotiations with the Captains and shortly after they hired both of them back.

Very nicely done, Cameron. Beautiful opening portrait of Sacagawea. I loved hearing your voice in your entries. They were so detailed, and even provided some personal insights (your words about Capt. Lewis). Also, thank you so much for your wonderful buffalo. Your work deserves mention in one of your blog entries.
